WHY SODASTREAM ?

340,000,000,000 BOTTLES AND CANS GO TO LANDFILL EVERY YEAR. SODASTREAM CAN CHANGE THIS!

Do You know what it takes to manufacture PET bottles?

Plastic 2.7 million tons of plastic are used for the production of bottled water globally EVERY year and about the same amount for carbonated soft drinks. Most of this ends up in landfill.1 Don’t forget that it takes approximately 450 years for one bottle to decompose.

Oil 100 million barrels of oil. That’s the amount of oil that is used to produce the plastic for bottled water globally EVERY year. For Americans alone, that number is 17 million barrels. That’s enough oil to run about 1 million cars for a whole year.1

Poisinous Gas Many plastic bottles are disposed of and burned, emitting dangerous dioxins into the air and excessive carbon dioxide that stays in the atmosphere for approximately 100 years

Water Each bottle produced requires nearly 5 times its volume in water to manufacture. That’s a lot of wasted water in a world where 1.1 billion people lack a secure source of water. In addition, it’s production may have caused the release of nickel, ethylene oxide and benzene.
