With a strong focus on literacy and bilingual immersion, we believe that “learning is fun” and recognise that learning needs to be a pleasurable experience for our children. We know that they learn best through sensory experiences based on their curious nature and desire to explore the world. Hence, we provide them with a “learn, play, and discover” environment through a selection of structured, unstructured, and routine activities. This allows them to create, explore and discover, and offers many opportunities to develop their social, emotional, motor, language, and cultural skills.
Bilingual Immersion methodology is used in Maple Bear schools to develop competence in languages. This means that children learn to listen, speak, read, and write in both English and Mandarin by surrounding them with conversation and instruction in both languages. In Singapore, our students are immersed in English, plus a specially developed Mandarin curriculum that strongly emphasizes on bilingual language and literacy. Children learn in both English and Mandarin right from the first day.
Apart from more than 200 schools worldwide, we currently have 8 Maple Bear centres across Singapore, with another 6 new centres opening by September 2016.
